We’d like to wish all our customers and associates a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

And as it’s the season of goodwill, we’ve donated cash to three of our favourite charities instead of sending Christmas cards.

We’ve shared £300 between three deserving causes, each chosen by a member of our Churchill Taxation team. Each charity has received £100 to help with their important work.

Here’s an overview of what they mean to us…

mtarMany Tears Animal Rescue

Many Tears Animal Rescue (MTAR) is based in Wales but has dogs in foster homes throughout the UK. It takes in and rehomes primarily ex-breeding dogs and also cares for a small number of cats every year.

Stephanie Churchill, managing director and co-owner of Churchill Taxation, said: “Post Covid, there has been an influx of animals, particularly dogs, into rescue centres.

“MTAR homes many dogs and does a wonderful job, but there are so many pets needing homes now. Rescue centres are struggling and need all the help they can get.”

bcukBowel Cancer UK

Bowel Cancer UK is determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by the disease. The charity’s work includes providing expert information and support to patients and their families, and campaigning for early diagnosis and access to the best treatment and care.

Nicole Andrews, tax director and co-owner of Churchill Taxation, said: “A close friend of mine has recently been diagnosed with bowel cancer, so I’ve seen firsthand the devastation and shock this diagnosis can bring.”

ptaPear Tree PTA

Pear Tree Primary School’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) provides an extra link between families and the school in Nantwich, Cheshire.

The PTA works with the school to raise money to support learning and the curriculum and to enrich the school environment. Projects it’s been able to support include school trips, help towards the extension of the school hall, music lessons and the purchase of new school equipment.

Emma Barnes, senior tax manager, said: “Pear Tree PTA works tirelessly to raise much-needed funds to advance the education of pupils in the school.

“This is my last year linked to the school, and after 14 years of having children in attendance, what better way to say thank you to the PTA for all its efforts over the years.”
