We’re continuing our festive tradition of donating to our favourite charities instead of sending Christmas cards to our customers and associates.

This year, we’ve donated £300, which we’ve split between three deserving causes, each chosen by a member of the Churchill Taxation team.

Each charity has received a £100 boost this Christmas to help with their life-changing work. And with the cost-of-living crisis continuing, these worthy causes need our support more than ever.

Here’s a little bit about each charity and what they mean to us…

Raven’s Rescue UK

Raven’s Rescue UK is desperately in need of support this winter as it’s recently had to temporarily close its doors to new arrivals because of a £15k vets’ bill. The West Midlands-based animal rescue charity is appealing for donations to help it pay the bill.

Raven’s Rescue UK was founded in 2012 to help pets in need of rescue. The fully vet-supported charity provides sanctuary to unwanted, abused and abandoned animals. Once rehabilitated, each animal is matched to a suitable new home.

Stephanie Churchill, managing director and co-owner of Churchill Taxation, said: “I’m an animal lover, and this charity does such wonderful work. It provides a safe place for so many animals, and I hope the donation will help them pay off their vets’ bill a bit quicker.”

Penny’s Army Marching to Disney

Just4Children is fundraising to make eight-year-old Penny Mills’ Disney dreams come true. Penny, from Stafford, has a rare genetic disease called Sanfilippo syndrome, a type of childhood dementia that sadly means she may not live beyond her teens.

Nicole Andrews, tax director and co-owner of Churchill Taxation, said: “Penny is the niece of my university friend. Having a daughter of a similar age, I can only imagine what her parents are going through as her childhood dementia progresses. Our donation will go towards a dream trip to Disney World for Penny and her family.”

Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research, influence and information. This pioneering work into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer has helped save millions of lives.

Emma Barnes, senior tax manager, said: “Cancer Research UK is close to my heart because I’ve lost several close family members to cancer. I want to help the charity in its continued fight to beat the disease.”

Merry Christmas from Churchill Taxation
